The Cycle Friendly Business Scheme has been created to enhance the experience of cycling in the Worthing area. When you see this symbol above, you know the business is cycle friendly and has agreed to provide or signpost cyclists to storage or cycle parking facilities, offer a facility for the filling up of cyclist’s water bottles, offer the use of a puncture repair kit and provide visitor information including details of cycling in the area. Have you seen our symbol sticker yet in the window at Food and The Fish Factory?
With the above in mind and also to encourage visitors to Worthing to use the scenic coastal cycle route and to take advantage of the great facilities provided by tourism businesses and attractions located on and near the route, Worthing & Adur Councils have set up The Cycle Friendly Business Scheme and we were happy to attend the launch on 14 April to show our support and of course to join the scheme.
A number of local businesses have been involved in the planning of the scheme and their advice and ideas have contributed to its development. The scheme is a great opportunity to attract new visitors and increase their knowledge and interest in what’s available in Adur and Worthing.
So if you are passing Food or The Fish Factory on your bike one day, look out for our sticker on our door and pop in and we can fill up your water bottle or offer the use of a puncture repair kit if needed…and you can have lunch too!
