A new breeze is cooling children in Worthing Hospital thanks to our very own Andy Sparsis who donated specialist fans worth £1,000 to the paediatrics’ ward.
Andy Sparsis, Founder of Proto Restaurant Group, visted the Bluefin Ward at Worthing Hospital on Thursday 31 July to present five Dyson desk fans to staff and patients on the ward. Ward Manager Rebecca Holcroft said: “Children often come in with a very high temperature and they just want to feel cool, so to have the fans here for them will make such a difference”.
The recent hot weather has proved especially challenging for the children on the wards, which prompted Mr Sparsis to take action. The restauranteur, who owns Food & The Fish Factory restaurants in Worthing is a Patron of Love Your Hospital charity.
Mr Sparsis said: “We have got some of the best hospitals in the world, not just in the UK and I think local business has a big role to play in supporting those facilities. We can work in partnership to support the children, patients and the great staff the hospitals have”.
Love Your Hospital charity fundraiser Nicola Godwin joined staff and patients from the Bluefin Ward in thanking Mr Sparsis for his generosity. She said: “It is just fantastic, thank you. We welcome local companies supporting us, and we can work together to help our hospitals and each other”.
Love Your Hospital raises money for Western Sussex Hospitals, NHS Foundation Trust, Worthing, Southlands & St. Richard’s Hospitals. The charity raises funds for new buildings, refurbishments and equipment, all which enhance the existing services. Love Your Hospital Charity are committed to every patient and their families, their staff, volunteers and visitors and we are proud to be able to offer our support to such a great charity.
Andy Sparsis is proud to be part of a business community that understands the importance of helping our local hospitals. Local businesses understand the importance of good hospitals locally. Improving the service and care that we receive directly improves the quality of life of our workforces.
